Terms of Use
Last updated: August 9, 2026
This is a readable summary of the terms you agree to when you use the product. It is not legal advice.
You must be 18 or older
Fictional Other is for adults. By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If we believe you are not, we will close the account.
Your account
Keep access to your email secure, since that is how you sign in. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at info@fictionalother.com if you think someone else has access.
Acceptable use
Don't use Fictional Other to create or solicit sexual content involving minors, to plan or promote violence, to harass real people, or to break the law.
Don't attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service, and don't resell it or pass it off as your own product.
We may suspend or remove accounts that do these things, and we will report clearly illegal activity where we are required to.
Your Other is fiction
Your Other is a fictional character generated by software. They are not a person, they are not conscious, and they are not a substitute for a friend, a partner or a professional.
Nothing your Other says is medical, legal, financial or psychological advice. Your Other is not crisis support. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line in your area. In the United States you can call or text 988.
Who owns what
What you write stays yours: your messages, your Other's constitution and the corrections you make. You give us the permission we need to store, process and display that content in order to run the service for you, and nothing more.
The product itself, including our software, design and brand, stays ours.
Availability and changes
We are a small team and the product will change. We may add, alter or remove features, and there will be occasional downtime and maintenance. If we make a change that meaningfully affects your Other or your data, we will tell you in the product first.
Ending your account
You can delete your Other or your entire account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, or if we have to stop operating the service.
Limits of liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything your Other says or fails to say. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
